California Veterinary Medical Foundation Scholarship Awards
CVMF Student Scholarship
The CVMF awards annual scholarships of $500 each to UC Davis and Western University recognizing veterinary students participating in shelter medicine or disaster relief.
It is awarded to a third or fourth year student who has shown outstanding service in veterinary medicine at a city or county animal shelter or during a recognized California disaster response effort.
The recipients of this award are selected by the schools. Interested students should contact their programs office.
CVMF Ron Faoro DVM Student Scholarships
In 2015, the Ron Faoro, DVM, scholarship was established in memory of past CVMA president, Dr. Ron Faoro. The scholarship opportunities exemplify Dr. Faoro’s commitment to leadership in the veterinary profession.
The CVMF will award $2,500 scholarships to second, third or fourth-year veterinary students for their role in leadership. Applicants should be students in good standing at the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine or the Western University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Application submission is closed. Applications Recipients will be selected by the CVMF Ron Faoro DVM Student Scholarship Fund Subcommittee and the winners will be notified in June.
CVMF / VISC Student Scholarship
In 2013, the Veterinary Insurance Services Company (VISC) made a generous donation to the California Veterinary Medical Foundation (CVMF) to establish a scholarship fund to benefit California veterinary medical students. It is administered by the CVMF with no more than 10 percent of the funds granted to students each year.
The CVMF awards $1,000 scholarships to third and fourth-year veterinary students in good standing at the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine, the Western University College of Veterinary Medicine, and California residents attending out-of-state AVMA-accredited veterinary medical colleges.
The CVMF’s scholarship award is funded by a generous donation from VISC. When VISC was established, one of its goals was to give back to veterinary medicine. The scholarship fund is part of VISC’s ongoing support of the veterinary profession.
Application submission is closed. Recipients are selected by the CVMF/VISC Student Scholarship Fund Subcommittee and winners were notified in June.
