In 2013, the Veterinary Insurance Services Company (VISC) made a generous donation to the California Veterinary Medical Foundation (CVMF) to establish a scholarship fund to benefit California veterinary medical students. It is administered by the CVMF with no more than 10 percent of the funds granted to students each year.

The CVMF awards $1,000 scholarships to third and fourth-year veterinary students in good standing at the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine, the Western University College of Veterinary Medicine, and California residents attending out of state AVMA-accredited veterinary medical colleges.

The CVMF’s scholarship award is funded by a generous donation from VISC. When VISC was established, one of its goals was to give back to veterinary medicine. The scholarship fund is part of VISC’s ongoing support of the veterinary profession.

Application deadline is April 15, 2024. Recipients are selected by the CVMF/VISC Student Scholarship Fund Subcommittee and winners were notified in June.
